Residential Vastu

Residential Vastu (often called Vastu Shastra for Homes) encompasses the traditional Indian architectural and design principles that harmonize a living space with natural forces—earth, water, fire, air, and space. The aim is to promote health, prosperity, peace, and positive energy for the people living in the house.

Here’s what it generally covers:

1. Plot Selection & Orientation
  • Choosing the right shape and slope of the plot.
  • Ensuring the house faces a favorable direction.

2. Layout & Floor Plan
  • Placement of rooms in relation to the directions.
  • Proportions and symmetry for balance and stability.

3. Entrances & Exits
  • Location, size, and direction of the main entrance (considered the “gateway of energy”).
  • Proper positioning of doors and windows to allow natural light and airflow.

4. Rooms & Zones
  • For welcoming energy.
  • For stability and restful sleep.
  • For growth and creativity.
  • For spiritual vibrations.

5. Interior Arrangement
  • Placement of furniture, mirrors, beds, and storage to avoid energy blockages.
  • Color schemes aligned with elements (light yellow, white, green, etc., depending on direction).

6. Water Sources
  • Positioning of borewell, underground tanks, and overhead tanks.
  • Ensuring water elements (fountains, aquariums) are in the right zones.

7. Energy Flow
  • Open spaces, ventilation, and clutter-free design to keep prana (life energy) circulating.
  • Use of plants, natural materials, and symbols to enhance positivity.

8. Remedies & Corrections
  • Balancing flaws in existing homes without demolition (using mirrors, plants, metals, colors, yantras, etc.).

In essence, residential Vastu is about aligning the home with natural laws so the family experiences peace, harmony, health, and abundance.
