Agricultural Vastu

Agricultural Vastu (Vastu Shastra for farming and cultivation) deals with planning and aligning farmland, water sources, cattle sheds, storage, and farmhouses in harmony with the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space). Its goal is to ensure fertile yield, healthy livestock, prosperity for the farmer, and balanced energy on the land.

Here’s what Agricultural Vastu encompasses:

1. Land Selection & Shape

  • Square or rectangular farmland is most auspicious.

  • Avoid irregular or triangular plots (cause energy imbalance).

  • Slight slope towards the North or East is ideal (for water flow and fertility).

2. Soil & Crop Suitability

  • Soil quality and color are considered:

    • Dark soil → good for cereals and pulses.

    • Red soil → favorable for fruits and vegetables.

  • Choosing crops that align with natural soil/region energy enhances yield.

3. Water Sources & Irrigation

  • Borewell, canals, or ponds in the Northeast (Ishanya corner → water element).

  • Pumps, irrigation systems, and pipelines should flow North to South or East to West.

  • Overhead tanks → Southwest or West (higher zones).

4. Farm Buildings & Storage

  • Farmhouse → Southwest (stability and protection).

  • Cattle shed / poultry shed → Northwest (movement and airflow).

  • Grain storage / godown → South or West (strength and preservation).

  • Machinery shed / tractors / tools → Southeast (fire/energy zone).

5. Plantation & Crop Zoning

  • Tall trees (neem, mango, banyan) → South and West (act as protective barriers).

  • Smaller trees, medicinal herbs → North and East.

  • Creepers and climbers → East or North walls (not on South/West walls).

  • Main crop fields → Center, East, or North zones for growth.

6. Paths & Roads

  • Entry roads → East or North.

  • Avoid entry from Southwest (causes energy drain).

  • Internal farm paths ideally run East–West or North–South.

7. Energy & Environmental Balance

  • Wind and sunlight movement should be free, especially from East and North.

  • Open space in East and North ensures balance and prosperity.

  • Use of natural elements (cows, organic compost, water bodies) enhances land energy.

8. Remedies for Existing Farmland

  • If borewell or structures are wrongly placed, remedies like planting specific trees, balancing with water bodies, or using vastu yantras can help.

  • Aligning farm operations (ploughing, sowing, harvesting) with sunrise and seasonal cycles amplifies benefits.

In essence, Agricultural Vastu ensures that the land, water, crops, livestock, and farmer’s home work in harmony with nature—leading to abundance, fertility, financial growth, and environmental sustainability.
